Air Source Heat Pumps | Up to 4× More Efficient

Instead of burning fuel to generate heat, an air source heat pump extracts existing heat from the outside air — making it up to four times more efficient than a traditional gas boiler.
Heat pumps are quickly becoming the standard for efficient home heating in Ireland, and for good reason.
Instead of burning fuel to generate heat, an air source heat pump extracts existing heat from the outside air and transfers it into your home, making it up to four times more efficient than a traditional gas boiler.
How a heat pump actually works
An air source heat pump works a bit like a fridge in reverse. It draws in outside air, even in cold weather, and uses a refrigerant cycle to extract usable heat from it, then transfers that heat into your home's water and heating system.
Because it's moving heat rather than generating it from burning fuel, it uses far less energy to produce the same amount of warmth.
Modern heat pumps perform reliably even through an Irish winter, and pair well with underfloor heating or larger radiators, which run effectively at lower water temperatures than a traditional boiler system.
Lower running costs, lower environmental impact
Because a heat pump moves heat rather than creates it through combustion, running costs are typically significantly lower than an equivalent gas or oil system over the long term.
There's no combustion at all, meaning no flue, no carbon monoxide risk, and a meaningfully smaller carbon footprint for your home.
- Fully RGII Registered — installed to full compliance with Irish regulations.
- Quiet Operation — modern units run almost silently.
- Long Lifespan — typically outlasts a traditional boiler.
Is your home suitable for a heat pump?
Heat pumps work best in well-insulated homes, though many older properties can still make the switch with some upgrades to insulation or heat emitters first.
During a survey, we assess your home's insulation, existing heating system, and hot water demand to confirm whether a heat pump is the right fit, or whether some preparatory work would make the switch more effective.
Serving Dublin, Kildare and Wicklow
Revolution Gas installs air source heat pumps right across Dublin city and county.
In Kildare, we cover Naas, Celbridge, Leixlip and Maynooth.
Throughout Wicklow we cover Bray, Greystones and Wicklow Town.
Wherever you're based across these three counties, our engineers can carry out a survey, provide a clear quote, and schedule your installation at a time that suits you.
A long-term investment in your home
A heat pump isn't just a heating upgrade — it's a long-term investment in how your home performs.
Lower running costs, quieter operation, and a genuinely lower environmental impact make it one of the most future-proof choices a homeowner can make right now.
